2024 PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS

AZK9 RESCUE
(GREEN TEAM)

AZK9 is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization serving Arizona’s underserved communities with the tri-fold approach of education, sterilization & rescue.  This group of dedicated volunteers was founded by people wanting to make a difference in the lives of companion animals in Maricopa County, AZ. In the past 10 years we have partnered with local organizations and mobile veterinarians to provide free spay and neuter clinics in our community, helping fix over 15,000 pets and supporting their families with education and assistance. For the dogs in our care, our mission has remained to give a second chance to those who have been abused, abandoned, and forgotten. Our focus has remained to help those who were considered less adoptable, hard to place, overlooked, and truly in need of a second chance in life. Each animal we take into our care is a deserving life needing love and companionship of a family. We work hard with each and every dog providing thorough medical care, training, and socializing to get each dog ready for a loving and devoted home.

DESERT LABRADOR RETRIEVER RESCUE
( BLUE TEAM)

Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue’s mission –
Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue (DLRR) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to finding loving, life-long homes for displaced Labrador Retrievers. The rescue provides medical care and/or rehabilitation for DLRR dogs and then matches them with appropriate, permanent homes. We also provide Labrador Retriever breed and training information on request. Through public education, we strive to help eliminate animal overpopulation by requiring the spaying and neutering of pets. DLRR takes in dogs from the pound, other animal shelters, strays and from owners who no longer want them or are unable to provide them with a home. Once we intake the dog, we provide vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and any other medical care the dog needs, as well as behavioral assessment if required. Typically, the dog is placed in a foster home; however, there may be occasions that the dog will be placed in an approved boarding kennel to decompress for a couple of days before going into foster care. The foster home provides temporary care for the dog until a new family adopts him or her. The foster home also evaluates the dog’s temperament and behavior, so that we can find just the right family for each dog. 2020 marks 21 years of DLRR rescuing Labs. We have rescued over 5,000 Labrador Retrievers since 1999.

FOREVER LOVED PET SANCTUARY
(GRAY TEAM)

Our mission at Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) is to help overlooked senior dogs in Arizona find their forever homes. We’ve been rescuing and adopting out senior pups since 2012, and the success stories are powerful. Dogs who were abandoned or tossed out as strays are incredibly resilient — they simply want a place to call home and people to love. Older dogs make loving, loyal, wonderful companions.
